Discover the versatility and rich heritage of Bija Achiote Infused Oil, a product designed to enhance your culinary creations and support various wellness needs. Infused with the vibrant seeds of the achiote plant, also known as annatto, this oil brings together tradition and functionality in one unique blend.

Culinary Uses:

  • Flavor and Color Enhancer: Add a splash of Bija Achiote Infused Oil to your dishes to impart a beautiful red-orange color and a subtle, earthy flavor. It’s perfect for marinating meats, sautéing vegetables, and preparing traditional Latin American dishes.
  • Cooking Base: Use it as a cooking base for rice, beans, and stews to elevate the taste and appearance of your meals.

Wellness Applications:

  • Insect Bites: Apply a small amount of achiote-infused oil directly to insect bites and stings to help reduce inflammation and soothe irritation. Its natural anti-inflammatory properties provide quick relief from itching and swelling.
  • Sun Protection: Achiote oil contains bixin, a carotenoid with antioxidant properties that can offer mild protection against UV rays. While it should not replace commercial sunscreens, applying it can provide additional sun protection.
  • Spiritual Ceremonies: Used traditionally in Taíno and other indigenous cultures, achiote is a sacred plant. The oil can be used in spiritual rituals and ceremonies for body painting and protection, symbolizing life and energy.

Key Benefits:

  • Natural Ingredients: Made from organic achiote seeds and infused with intention.
  • Multi-Purpose: Ideal for both culinary and wellness applications.
  • Rich in Antioxidants: Offers protective benefits against environmental stressors.

How to Use:

  • Cooking: Drizzle over dishes as a finishing oil or use it as a base for sautéing.
  • Insect Bites: Dab a small amount on the affected area and gently massage.
  • Sun Protection: Apply a thin layer on the skin before sun exposure. Reapply as needed. Note it does temporarily stain the skin.
  • Spiritual Ceremonies: Use it for body painting or as part of ritualistic practices.

Great add on for taste!

I tried the Bija Achiote oil as a seasoning and could not believe how it woke up the flavor of my food! It was not over bearing, but actually a great compliment. A good substitute to artificial Sazón. And Looking forward to trying it with other of my meals as a perfect add on as well. I highly recommend it!!
